2008-09 Budget Process
The Greater Amsterdam School District Board
of Education has begun the 2008-09 budget process.
The goal of this process is to develop a
fiscally responsible plan that:
-
Supports educational initiatives to
improve student performance from kindergarten through 12th
grade.
-
Provides the means for students and staff
to meet federal and state educational mandates while also
bearing mind the community’s ability to pay.
-
Provides the necessary services, supplies
and materials within the monitory limit of a 4% increase.
-
Provides a safe and secure environment
that promotes learning for all students.
From now until May, the Board of
Education will
meet twice each month. All meetings begin at 7 p.m. and will be
held in the Central Administration Building at 11 Liberty
Street. (To view the board’s entire 2007-08 meeting schedule,
