Meal Charging Policy - Regulations Revision

FULL PAID:

  1. Grades K-5 are permitted to charge meals to a maximum of $9.60. When the charges reach $3.50 a warning letter shall be generated by the School Lunch Authority and mailed via the USPS notifying the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the amount of charges incurred to be paid. A second letter final notification shall be mailed via USPS to parent(s)/guardian(s) notifying that no additional charges may be made in full outstanding balance is paid.

  2. Grades 6-12 are permitted to charge meals to a maximum of $11.10. When the charges reach $5.55 a warning letter shall be generated by the School Lunch Authority and mailed via the USPS notifying the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the amount of charges incurred to be paid. A second letter final notification shall be mailed via USPS to parent(s)/guardian(s) notifying that no additional charges may be made in full outstanding balance is paid.

REDUCED PRICE:

  1. Grades K-12 are permitted to charge meals to a maximum of $3.00. When the charges reach $1.50 a warning letter shall be generated by the School Lunch Authority and mailed via the USPS notifying the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the amount of charges incurred to be paid. A second letter final notification shall be mailed via USPS to "" parent(s)/guardian(s) notifying that no additional charges may be made in full outstanding balance is paid.

  2. Warning and Final notification letter returned because of not able to be deliver, will be forwarded to the appropriate building Principal to make contact with the parent(s)/guardian(s).

  3. If maximum charging limits are met and payment to satisfy the charges are . not made the student(s) shall not be permitted a choice meal and shall be provided an alternative meal for breakfast and lunch.

  4. A letter shall be sent home at the end of school year and prior to the start of the new school year informing the parent(s)/guardian(s) of any outstanding charge balances. Student(s) with outstanding charges from the prior school year will not be permitted to charge meal until balance outstanding has been satisfied.
