Arrays
| Making
an array is one strategy taught to the children to help them figure
out
a multiplication fact.
When making an array, objects are placed in rows and columns. The number of objects in the row is multiplied by the number of objects in the column. For example: The array below would be 2 X 5 = 10
* * * * * * * * * * To check the answer the children can count the number of stars to make sure that the number they multiplied correspond with the number they counted. |
