To graduate from Amsterdam High School students must fulfill two types of requirements as set forth below: course requirements and examination requirements.
Course Requirements Students must earn the following course credits in order to graduate with one of the three possible diplomas as follows:
* A three-unit sequence in a language other than English, or a five-unit sequence in business, art, or music
Examination Requirements
Note: RCT exams may be available for special education students who score below a 55 on a Regents Exam
*Passing score 55 or 65 depending on year of entry into high school (see below)
For student entering grade 9 in 2005: Students must have at least two scores at 65 or above on the five required Regents exams and all scores at 55 or above. For student entering grade 9 in 2006: Students must have at least three scores at 65 or above on the five required Regents exams and all scores at 55 or above. For student entering grade 9 in 2007: Students must have at least four scores at 65 or above on the five required Regents exams and all scores at 55 or above. For student entering grade 9 in 2008 and later: Students must pass all five required Regents exams at 65 or above.
