Test Registration and Preparation:
ACT: Register for the ACT and more.
The College Board: Register for both SAT I and II, purchase review materials, research colleges and more.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Most people who take the TOEFL test are planning to study at colleges and universities where instruction is in English.  In addition, many government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.
Regents Examinations: Archived Regents examinations with answer keys.
The Princeton Review: Explore schools, test preparation, online applications, financial aid information and more.
Sylvan Learning Centers: Offers SAT and ACT preparation, private tutoring, study skills courses and more.

Go College: Full-service site offering college searching, financial aid information and more.
State University of New York (SUNY): Get information on the 64 SUNY campuses, download a SUNY application and get other information about the SUNY system.

 

Financial Aid Information:
FAFSA: Online Free Application for Federal Student Aid: an essential financial aid form to fill out.
Get your PIN: Get a PIN to sign your FAFSA electronically and conduct other online business with the U.S. Department of Education.
Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC): Information on New York State financial aid programs, tips for choosing a school, career planning and more.
Financial Aid Information: Information on scholarships, loans, savings programs, military aid and more.
Search for Scholarships: Fastweb lists over 600,000 scholarships for students to search for free.  Be aware of scholarship scams.  Scholarship search engines and applications should always be FREE.
Scholarship Scams: Beware of scholarship scams.  This is important for all parents and students searching and applying for scholarships.

   

Career Assistance:
New York Career Zone: This site is highly recommended.  Take a self-assessment, research careers and find schools in New York State that offer programs leading to a particular career.
Occupational Outlook Handbook: A nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives.
Occupational Information Network: Search through occupations and use a list of your skills to find matching occupations.
America's Job Bank: Thousand of new jobs are posted daily.  Search for jobs and/or register and access free information on resume writing, cover letters, and more.

Selective Service System: Men over 18 can register here.
Student Athletes: If you are planning on playing athletics in college, you must visit this website.  There are rules and eligibility requirements that you are responsible for.  These are set and monitored by the National College Athletic Association (NCAA).
