McNulty Academy fifth-graders recently
learned there's more to Canada than maple leafs and hockey.
The school's fifth-graders learn about Canada as part of
their international magnet school curriculum, so instructors
from the Scotia-Glenville Children's Museum presented them
with a lesson titled "Canada, Our Neighbors to the North."
After a discussion about the country, students got a chance
to view items from Canada, such as artifacts, puzzles, maps,
hats, and artwork. Students then made Canadian book marks
with paper, magic markers, and different stamps with ink.
The students thoroughly enjoyed this educational program,
which helped increase their knowledge of Canada and its
history.
