Second-graders learn about bugs and solar energy at Schenectady Planetarium & Museum

Marie Curie Institute's second-grader visited the Schenectady Planetarium and Museum recently to learn about bugs and the solar system.

The students participated in a program called "Wow...Bugs!" and watched a film titled "Honey, I Shrunk the Solar System!"

The second-graders have been studying the solar system in class, so the visit tied in nicely with their lessons. The bugs program fit in with the school's engineering magnet theme because, after learning about the bugs, students made their own of tissue paper, pipe cleaners, and magic markers!

This was the first time that we had visited this museum and it was an enlightening educational experience. We look forward to more trips like this in the future!
