Walter Elwood Museum presents 12th annual Winter Art Show

The Walter Elwood Museum of the Mohawk Valley is pleased to present its 12th Annual Winter Art Show, featuring selections by more than 30 local, regional and statewide artists.

The Winter Art Show art show will feature artists who work with a variety of media, such as oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, pen & ink, pencil, charcoal, ceramic, porcelain, sculpture, wood, mixed media and photography. Many of the pieces on display will be available for sale to the public.

An opening champagne reception will be held at the museum on Friday, March 7, from 5-8 p.m. The reception will feature fine art, music by the Upper Catskill String Quartet, an assortment of delicious foods, desserts and refreshments. Admission is $4 per person. The Artists Co-Op gift shop will be open during the reception and all items will be sold at a 10 percent discount. Scott Haefner, co-author of "Images of America: Amsterdam" will be on hand to autograph copies of his book.

Advance tickets may be purchased over the phone or by credit card via fax at 518-843-6098. Please pre-order tickets as soon as possible; a large crowd is expected, with attendees from the Tri-County area as well as the Capital Region, given the geographical range of registered artists.

The Walter Elwood Museum is located at 300 Guy Park Ave. in Amsterdam, NY. For more information about the museum, the 12th Annual Winter Art Show, or to become a museum member, please call 518-843-5151.
