Students and staff enjoy an afternoon
of Andean Latin-American music
McNulty Academy students and teachers were treated to a
morning of singing and dancing to Andean Latin-American
music.
The performance was titled Alborada, which is the Spanish
word for dawn, as in morning, or music played at dawn to
celebrate, and it tied in nicely with the school’s
international magnet theme.
The concert was performed by a family of musicians from
Mexico and included discussions of the various instruments
that band members were using. Students and staff members
were given a chance to play some of the instruments while
the band played.
The highlight of the concert was the audience participation
segment, in which band members led a sign-along and had
students and staff dancing around the gymnasium.
