Dates of the English Language Arts Assessment
Third Grade  Fourth Grade Fifth Grade

Third and Fifth Graders take a 2-day English Language Arts Assessment. 

Students read and listen to stories and poems.  They read content in fiction and non-fiction.  Then they are asked questions in a multiple choice and short answer format.  They also edit a paragraph.  Student fix mistakes in capitalization, punctuation, and grammar.

Fourth graders take a 3-day English Language Arts Assessment. 

These students also read and listen to stories and poems.  They are asked questions in a multiple choice and short answer format.  The fourth graders also read two longer passages on a similar topic. They will be asked questions where students will find the information from both reading selections.  Students are expected to write a through, well supported essay.  This essay will graded for content and writing mechanics.
