Procedure
for
dealing
with
discipline
problems
on
the
school
bus
-
The
bus
drivers
shall
report
misbehavior
on
school
buses
to
the
Principal
using
the
prescribed
referral
forms
on
the
date
of
the
infraction.
-
The
Principal
will
discuss
the
problems
with
the
student
and
the
Transportation
Department
and
take
the
appropriate
disciplinary
action.
-
A
letter
shall
be
sent
from
the
Principal's
Office
to
the
parent,
that
if
the
child's
inappropriate
conduct
continues,
the
privilege
of
riding
on
the
school
bus
would
be
withdrawn
and
it
will
become
the
parent's
responsibility
to
transport
the
student
to
school.
-
The
privilege
of
riding
the
school
bus
shall
not
be
restored
until
a
parent-student
conference
has
been
held
with
the
Principal
or
designee.
-
The
Principal
may
invoke
immediate
suspension
for
flagrant
acts
that
jeopardize
the
health,
safety
and
welfare
of
the
student
and/or
other
students.
Disruptive
students
-
Disruptive
students
will
be
reported
to
the
school
principal
on
the
prescribed
form
prepared
by
the
bus
driver.
The
Bus
Company
will
review
all
bus
referrals
before
they
are
submitted
to
the
Building
Administrator,
to
eliminate
nuisance
referrals.
-
Upon
the
receipt
of
three
reports
showing
previous
action
taken,
a
letter
will
be
sent
to
the
student's
home
with
notification
of
a
five
(5)
day
suspension
from
riding
the
school
bus.
-
After
reinstatement,
if
the
student
continues
the
disruptive
behavior
to
the
point
where
one
(1)
additional
written
report
is
received
by
the
school
district,
the
student
will
be
suspended
for
sixty
(60)
school
days.
After
reinstatement
from
this
suspension,
if
the
student
receives
one
(1)
additional
written
report,
the
student
will
receive
a
permanent
suspension
from
riding
the
school
bus
for
the
remainder
of
the
the
school
year.
The
Building
Principal
will
notify
the
parent
after
each
incident.
