News of Districtwide Interest
The 2011-12 District-Wide Spelling Bee was held on Monday,
January 9th at Amsterdam High School. Thirty students earned the right to
participate in this event based on their successful spelling performance in
competitions held at Barkley Microsociety, Curie Institute, McNulty Academy,

Students Compete in Stock Market Game
Amsterdam High School, District
Students in Mr. VonEhr's Economics class competed this fall in the Capital Region Stock Market Game. There were 428 teams from over 30 high schools in the capital region that competed in a 10 week stock market game. Senior Marek Kruszewski came in 2nd place. Seniors Chantelle DeRose and Kassie Mercado came in 3rd place. Congratulations to all team players.

On December 10, 2011 members of the Robotics Club from Lynch Literacy Academy participated in the FIRST LEGO® League (FLL) Challenge on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) located in Troy, New York.
