A successful year for elementary after school enrichment programs

June 15, 2017

The after school enrichment programs have come to an end, but it was quite a successful year!

All four of the Amsterdam elementary schools hosted a total of 18 programs, funded by the Community Schools initiative and a total of 450 students were enrolled in the programs.

Students had the opportunity to take part in an art program, a LEGO/STEAM program, a book program, a math program, a running group, kickball, cooking & gardening, volleyball, music, and more.

The programs will continue for the 2017-18 school year and will even be expanding to Lynch and the high school as well.

A special thank you to the City of Amsterdam bus system for transporting some of the students home each day. An adult volunteer would ride the buses with the students and ensure that they were dropped off safely.
