The Greater Amsterdam School District has received about 20 applications from candidates interested in becoming the next Superintendent of Schools.

The deadline for submitting applications was Feb. 20. The Board of Education is working with HFM BOCES District Superintendent Dr. David Ziskin to conduct the superintendent search, which began in early January. 

In the meantime, Dr. Raymond Colucciello will continue to serve as GASD Interim Superintendent through the end of the school  year on June 30. He replaced former Superintendent Vicma “Vicky” Ramos, who left to become the district superintendent for the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES about a year ago.

The Board of Education has begun the process of reviewing the candidate applications. The new superintendent is expected to begin work in July 2020.
