Response to Intervention (RtI)

What is RtI?

“Response to Intervention,” or RtI, is the practice of providing high quality instruction/intervention matched to student needs.

This is the model that the New York State Education Department mandated all school districts implement by July 2012. The Greater Amsterdam School District began using the RtI model in 2009. RtI allows us to use data to target reading and math needs and plan instruction with each child’s needs in reading and math.
