AHA Earth Science students experience geology at NYS Museum

Students in Jessica Overbaugh‘s Earth Science class at Amsterdam High School had the opportunity to experience geology firsthand at the New York State Museum on Tuesday. Not only did the students have the opportunity to participate in a lab class with museum teachers to reinforce what they have been learning in class with Mrs. Overbaugh, but they also attended a lecture focused on global correlation, how New York State rock formations are similar to that of Morocco in Northern Africa. By grappling with scientific phenomena, students were able to understand more deeply how rock formation tells a story about history.
