Congratulations to Amsterdam High School’s Sydney Hoefs for scoring her 50th goal on Wednesday, May 11 during her Senior Night game against South Glens Falls. Entering the game she was 3 goals shy from hitting this astonishing mark. This has only been met one time before by her cousin Kayli Hoefs.  She scored her 48th goal in the first half of the game. At the start of the second half she won the first two draws and scored her next two goals in a matter of 30 seconds to reach 50. Sydney is always one of the team captains to take charge in practices and games. She motivates her team to keep going no matter how tired they are and she always keeps a positive attitude on and off the field for other players to envy. Sydney recently committed to SUNY Oswego to start her college career in Business Administration and to be a valuable asset to the Lakers basketball team. She has expressed interest in playing lacrosse as well.
