AHS holds 2020 Multicultural Festival

Some 15 countries and representatives from school and community came together Jan. 24 for the 2020 Multicultural Celebration at Amsterdam High School. Set up in the lobby were educational, music and food displays from Scotland, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, China, Japan, Uganda, The Republic of Kiribati, Latin America, Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Greece, Algeria, Poland, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and the Caribbean. The Multicultural Celebration was organized by the high school ENL (English as a New Language) Committee which has grown to include volunteers from other school departments, programs and community organizations. They include the AHS Spanish and English departments, the Liberty Partnership Program with Fulton Montgomery Community College, Smart Scholars and Centro Civico.
