Congratulations to Amsterdam High School junior, Nicholas Auspelmyer, and his team members from across the United States and Great Britain. The team received an award for “Best Presentation” from the Inspirit AI Scholars Live Online Program. Their project, “Medical Imaging (Pneumonia)”, focused on how artificial intelligence can help recognize pneumonia from X-ray scans before the human eye would be able to.
Several other AHS students also participated in Inspirit Al Scholars Live, a pre-college artificial intelligence program developed and taught by a team of Stanford University PhD students. Inspirit AI Scholars exposes high school students to fundamental AI concepts and guides them to build a socially impactful AI project using Python and associated AI libraries.
