Sept. 21, 2017
Ever wonder what it’s like being a high school student in the Greater Amsterdam School District? Or want to refresh your memories of days spent walking those halls?
This year, Amsterdam High School’s Open House has tiptoed away from the traditional format and will give parents and guardians the opportunity to freely move about the building using their child’s schedule as a guide.
When parents arrive at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28, they’ll be greeted by administrators with a packet of important information.
They’ll then move on to the student’s guidance counselor where they will receive their schedule.
Ultimately, parents will navigate the building as they connect with teachers and support staff. National Honor Society members will be available to assist with directions.
The event ends at 7 p.m.
Besides serving as an opportunity to build relationships with staff and support their students’ academic success, parents can also use the time to schedule future conferences with teachers.
In addition, high school chorus members will host a fundraiser where parents can purchase dinner items and desserts.
If parents have any questions or concerns, they are encouraged to reach out to Assistant Principal Christine Pietro at 518-843-4932 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
