A group of Amsterdam High School seniors were invited by New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office to attend his State of the State address in Albany on Jan. 8. They were only one of 10 classes chosen to represent students from the different regions of the state at the event.

The students were from Mr. Palczak’s government class. Mr. Palczak and AHS Principal Tyrone O’Meally also attended.

The students began their day participating in a workshop on the topic of New York State government and higher education presented by the State University of New York. They then attended Gov, Cuomo’s State of the State address to the NYS Legislature, which included a multimedia presentation highlighting many issues important to New York students.
