Frequently asked questions

  • What are summer school dates/times?
    • Summer school begins on Tuesday, July 10. There will be three class sessions per day, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m., 9:30 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Classes end Wednesday, August 15 and Regents are scheduled for Thursday to Friday, August 16 and 17.
  • How do students register?
    • Students in participating schools may pre-register int heir home districts from June 1 to June 29. Late registrants may register at Gloversville High School from 8 a.m. to noon on July 5.
  • What if my child is not a resident in a participating district?
    • Students who live in a non-participating district may attend if their parents/guardians make arrangements directly with a participating district. Tuition is payable by check/money order only to the participating district submitting the application.
      • Summer school course: $102
      • Exam only (walk-ins): $16
  • Is lunch provided for students?
    • Lunch will be available from 11:20 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. and food is available for purchase between classes.
  • Is transportation provided?
    • HFM BOCES does not provide transportation. Check with your home district about the availability of transportation to and from school.
  • What is the attendance policy for Regional Summer School?
    • More than two absences or six occasions of tardiness from any course is grounds for removal from that course. No excuses for absences or tardiness will be accepted.
  • Who will pay for a student to attend Regional Summer School?
    • Participating school districts pay for their students to attend regional summer school. Students who live in a non-participating district may attend if their parents/guardians make arrangements, including payment of tuition, directly with a participating district.
