                  DEAN OF STUDENTS (Teacher on Special Assignment – Internal Only-2021-22 SY) Continuous Recruitment Until Position Filled

                  • Two (.5) positions at LLA and two (.5) positions at AHS, both candidates are from the same tenure area (.5 Dean and retain .5 Teaching Assignment in tenure area)
                  • The purpose/s of overall student management and dealing with student attendance issues. Support campus and building principals in planning and implementing all facets that lead to a better educational program for all students. Build capacity for classroom and campus wide implementation of behavioral management strategies; other related duties as may be required or directed.

                  Necessary Skills, Qualifications And Professional Background:

                  Master’s Degree, Valid NYS Teaching certification. Administrative Certification (or progressing toward) is preferred. Five years of successful teaching experience. Skills to manage students and programs, communicate effectively, problem solving. Knowledge of discipline procedures, safety procedures, district policies and special education regulations. Knowledge of research based best practices. Demonstrated competence in collaboration with and leadership with staff members.

                  Teacher Assistants (2021-22 and 2022-23 SY)

                  Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and Level I, Teaching Assistant certification.                   Civil Service/Non-Instructional Positions

                  Financial Support Specialist (Full Time – 12 Month) – District Office (2021-22 SY) Continuous Recruitment

                  DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Incumbents in this position are responsible for providing accounting and clerical support as related to the needs of the school district and finance office. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the School Business Manager. Does related work as required.

                  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
                  A. Graduation for a regionally accredited or New York State registered two year college or University with an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field; OR

                  B. Successful completion of twenty four (24) credit hours in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university and two (2) years of paid experience maintaining financial accounts and records, including the use of financially or fiscally related types of computer software programs; OR

                  C. Five (5) years of paid experience maintaining financial accounts and records, including the use of financially or fiscally related types of computer software programs; OR

                  D. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), or (C) above.

                  • The final candidate appointed to this position will be serving in a provisional appointment in accordance with New York State Civil Service Law. The candidate must successfully complete a competitive examination for the title above and be eligible for appointment in accordance with Civil Service Law and the Civil Service Rules for the City of Amsterdam to obtain a permanent appointment.
