RJ McNulty Academy is experiencing a change in leadership mid-year after the Principal and Assistant Principal announced they are stepping down.
Nicole Holehan, who was hired as McNulty Principal last fall, is leaving the district effective Feb. 27 to pursue other interests. Assistant Principal Jessica Valente, also hired last fall, resigned recently to accept an administrative promotion with the Schenectady City School District.
In their place, the GASD Board of Education has appointed Daniel Connor as Interim Principal of McNulty and Joseph Rajczak as Interim Assistant Principal for the remainder of the 2021-22 school year. The district is seeking permanent replacements for both positions.
Connor is a long-time former Superintendent of Schools with 40 years of experience in education. He most recently headed the Goshen Central School District last school year. He also served as superintendent for a 30-plus-year span at Eastport South Manor Schools, the Gloversville Enlarged School District, the Wilson Central School District, the Onondaga Central School District and the Warrensburg Central School District. Prior to that he was a school principal, Director of Athletics and a teacher.
Rajczak served as Cohoes High School Principal for 17 years from 1999-2016. Prior to that he was a Business Education teacher and coach at Scotia-Glenville High School. He has worked for the last five years as a Terminal Manager for STA/Brown Transportation overseeing school bus runs and bus safety.
“We are happy to have these experienced educational administrators on board to work with our students and staff as we move forward finding permanent leaders to join our team,” said GASD Superintendent Richard Ruberti.
