Eighth Grade Moving Up Ceremony Guide 2019

We are looking forward to celebrating with you on June 26, 2019.  Please see below for important information regarding the Moving Up Ceremony.  Please contact the LLA main office if you have additional questions.

As previously communicated, participation in the Moving Up Ceremony is based on academics and behavior.  Students who fail more than two core classes and students with referrals in the fourth quarter, may not be able to participate.

Rehearsals for the Moving Up Ceremony will take place at LLA during the school day during the week of June 17.

Dress Code

All clothing must be appropriate per the Code of Conduct.  This includes the length of dresses/skirts and a covered midriff.  Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Following the Spanish Checkpoint A Exam on Monday, June 24, each student will receive four tickets; two for the gymnasium and two for the auditorium.  The ceremony will be live-streamed in the auditorium. Only attendees with tickets will be allowed in the gymnasium or the auditorium. The tickets will be stamped with a ‘G’ for the gymnasium or ‘A’ for the auditorium.  Guests without tickets may watch the ceremony in a classroom.

Additional Tickets

Additional tickets will be available upon request. Please call 518-843-3716 to be added to the waiting list. We ask that if you do not need your allotment of four tickets, that you return the extra tickets to the LLA  Main Office, so that we can redistribute them to families who need additional tickets. Tickets are required for every person (over the age of two) attending the ceremony in both the Gymnasium and Auditorium locations.

Day of the Ceremony

The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 9:00 a.m. at the Amsterdam High School Gymnasium. Eighth grade students should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m.
