The Greater Amsterdam School District has begun accepting online registration for new Universal Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students for the 2022-23 school year. If you cannot register online, you may pick up registration packets at the District Office. There is no walk -in registration at this time. We know this is new for many parents. If you need help please contact the registration office at Registration@gasd.org for assistance by e-mail between the hours of 8am – 4pm.
- UPK Registration is for Greater Amsterdam School Buildings and Whispering Pines Only.
- Greater Amsterdam School Buildings will be offering only the 4yr UPK program
- Whispering Pines will be offering the 3yr and 4yr old UPK Programs
- Head Start 3yr and 4yr PreK Programs, please contact Head Start at 518-842-0329 for registration and information.
The Early Pre-K Registration Lottery begins March 10th and will continue through May 1st. Lottery announcements will be released in June. Registrations received after May 1st will be based upon availability for incoming Universal Pre-Kindergarten or placed on a waiting list. Transportation is NOT provided for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program located at Greater Amsterdam School Buildings and Whispering Pines.
- New Kindergarten Students are eligible to register anytime after March 10th for the 2022-2023 school year. There is no lottery for Kindergarten Students.
- Current PreK Students Going To Kindergarten will have re-enrollment forms sent home with the students and will need to be returned before the deadline to be enrolled. *Proof of residence is required if there is an address change
- Current 3yr PreK Whispering Pines Students will have re-enrollment forms sent home with the students and will need to be returned before the deadline in order to be entered in the lottery for the 22/23 4yr old UPK program. *Proof of residence is required if there is an address change.
- Registrations For New Students Grades 1-12 for the 2022-23 school year will only be accepted after June 1st. *Completed Registration and proofs required
- Students Grades K-11 Currently Attending our schools will NOT need to register and will be automatically transferred to their designated school. Elementary placement letters will be mailed in June. Secondary School letters will be mailed in the summer.
- St Mary’s Students wishing to attend Greater Amsterdam School District schools need to register as a New Student, providing a completed registration packet and required proofs.
