The Greater Amsterdam School District has appointed AnneMarie Giles as Principal of Amsterdam High School effective July 1, 2022. The appointment was made by the Board of Education on May 18.

“We are excited to have AnneMarie take on this new role in the district,” said GASD Superintendent of Schools Richard Ruberti. “Her commitment and leadership with our high school students have been exemplary over the years and we know we are in good hands.”
As Assistant Principal, Giles served as a member of school building and district committees including: CARE Team, Child Study Team, Building Safety team, Building Leadership Team, Professional Development Planning Team, AHS and GASD Attendance Committees, Hall of Fame Committee, Graduation Committee, DCIP Team, Seal of Biliteracy Team, GASD Educational Foundation, and the Climate & Culture Committee.
She has also served as GASD Summer School Principal for the last three years. Prior to becoming an administrator Giles was a science teacher (Biology, AP Biology, Forensics) at the high school from 2000-2018 and a Science Department Curriculum Leader from 2011-2018.
