Each year the GASD Hall of Fame inducts an Amsterdam High School athletic team from the past into the Hall of Fame as a legacy team.
Currently inducted are the:
- 1962-63 Fabulous 5 basketball team
- 1973-75 baseball team, winners of 53 consecutive games
- 1967 football, the original “Rugged Rams”
- 1986 undefeated football Big Ten champions
- 1995 NYS Class B football champions
- 2007-08 Girls’ basketball
- 1970 Class A League champions
The Hall of Fame committee is currently seeking nominations for teams which should be inducted as a legacy team.
To nominate a team please e-mail your nomination with a brief explanation of why think this team should be considered as a legacy team. E-mail to halloffame@gasd.org.
The induction ceremony will be held homecoming weekend; a date not yet determined. We are still accepting nominations for individuals worthy of induction into the Hall of Fame. An individual must have graduated a minimum of five years ago. For more information visit the link below:
