Important back to school and transportation information

All GASD families should have received their transportation instructions for the new school year in the mail. Please read the transportation card carefully. If the card indicates your student is a CDTA rider to and from Amsterdam High School and that student does not have a pass yet, please reach out and request one. CDTA passes are available for pick up at the GASD District Office.

CDTA high school student ridership information

If you have an elementary student who will attend a new school due to redistricting, please read your card carefully to make sure your child attends the correct school. Also, your child’s transportation situation may have changed and he or she may now be designated as a walker. If this is the case, your child will no longer ride a school bus and school busing will no longer be provided.

If you have recently enrolled your child in the district, please allow up to 5 days for the district to get your student enrolled and provisions for transportation processed (if applicable). During this time, please bring your child to school. You will be contacted once arrangements are made.

Lastly, if you have a Pre-Kindergarten student transitioning to Kindergarten this school year, please note we are experiencing delays in getting some students assigned to a bus. The district is addressing this situation as quickly as possible. We thank you for your patience and if you have not heard from the district, we recommend transporting your child to school until you hear from either the school or the transportation department. Please remember the district does not provide transportation for Pre-Kindergarten students. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the next day or two.
