Lynch Literacy Academy community,
As a result of key staff shortages due to COVID-19, all Lynch Literacy Academy students will continue their shift to a Remote Only Learning schedule for the remainder of the week, Thursday and Friday, January 6-7. Students should not report to school those days but continue to login with their teachers on Google Classroom for remote assignments, etc.
All LLA staff, however, should report to school as usual. The district will make a determination on Sunday whether students will return to in-person learning on Monday, January 10 as conditions warrant or remain on remote only instruction and parents and staff will be notified on Parent Square.
Special Education students in self-contained classes will continue to report to school for in person learning for the rest of the week. Self-contained students are those in grades 6-8 who participate in a 15:1:1, 12:1:1 or 12:1:2 class. Students who receive Consultant Teacher services and/or Resource Room will remain remote through Friday at this time.
If you have questions, please contact your student’s guidance counselor or teacher.
Please remember that moves like these may become necessary at any time if a significant number of GASD faculty are placed in mandatory quarantine, and a staffing shortage requires that we temporarily shift a class or school building to a fully remote setting, or switch to virtual services in the case of Special Needs students.
This notification is part of our commitment to keep you informed during these uncertain times. Please continue to conduct at-home screenings and maintain personal awareness of COVID symptoms for your children. As always, the health and safety of the students, staff, and community in the GASD remains our top priority. Please contact the LLA main office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Matthew Lewis
Lynch Literacy Academy Principal
