McNulty celebrates Read Across America Day

McNulty Academy celebrated Read Across America Day, on the day of the nationwide celebration, Tuesday, March 2. McNulty celebrated in a variety of ways: teachers dressing up, wearing Dr. Seuss pins and enjoying some treats.

Classrooms welcomed guest readers who read favorite books, classic and contemporary. Some readers read virtually, while others visited from other classrooms.

McNulty classrooms welcomed the following readers:

  • Board of Education President Dr. Nellie Bush (virtually) who read with her daughter Kristina Murray (AIS Math teacher- a three time reader)
  • School board member Deanna Mancini (virtually)

  • McNulty Vice-Principal Mrs. Berkshire ( a three time reader)
  • Teresa Hayes (retired McNulty teacher)
  • Senor Clemenzi (ENL teacher – a three time reader)
  • Lisa Iannuzzi (AIS reading)
  • Ms. Dylong (Physical Education teacher)
  • Fred Mitchell (AIS reading)
  • Ms. Marshall’s class (Grade 4)
  • Ms. Moran (AIS reading)
  • Mr. Snow (Grade 5 teacher)
  • Mary Reed (AIS reading- a three time reader)

  • A guest reader from Korea, Stefanie White, for Mrs. Snow’s class
  • The University of Albany collaborated with our school to have a guest reader, softball player Katie Falotico, who read to all virtual students K-5
