McNulty raises money to support local food pantry program

McNulty faculty and students celebrated their efforts to raise nearly $1,300 in support of  Catholic Charities of Fulton and Montgomery Counties at a school assembly on Monday, Nov.  25.  The donations raised by the school community will go towards supporting the organization’s local food pantry program and allow the non-profit to spend more than $10,000 on food.

Each classroom participated in a challenge to sell feathers.  The feathers were sold for ten cents each and every feather sold contributed to the overall amount raised.

“Give yourselves a round of applause,” said Catholic Charities Executive Director Mary Carpenter to the students attending the assembly.  “For every one dollar, we get to spend eight dollars on food for the program.”

During the assembly, the students and staff cheered as the 2019 Turkey Teacher was announced along with the runners up.

“You should be proud of yourselves,” said principal Romano ” I am proud of you and you should be proud of the work you did to give back to the community you live in.”

Congratulations to the entire 2019 turkey court!
