MLB pitcher Dale Stanavich visits Tecler Elementary

athlete signs autographs for students

Tecler Elementary School welcomed guest speaker, Dale Stanavich, an Amsterdam High School graduate who was just recently drafted as a left-handed pitcher for the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball organization.

Dale joined students in grades 3-5 on November 9 for a Leader In Me assembly that focused on leadership, goal setting, and LIM Habit Two – “Beginning with the end in mind.” Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive autographed photos.

Dale is the son of GASD Occupational Therapist Christine Stanavich. He is home in Amsterdam now during the baseball off season after being drafted by the Marlins in July. He is a member of the Marlins’ Single A Jupiter Hammerheads.

We thank Dale for speaking with students and emphasizing leadership qualities while motivating students to always do their best. We wish him continued success in his career.
