Tecler Pre-K/Kindergarten joint reading project

woman reads book to an elementary class

Mrs. Lis invited the Tecler Elementary School Pre-K students to her Kindergarten classroom to read and discuss the book “A House for Hermit Crab” by Eric Carle. After listening to the story, Mrs. Lis compared the students to the crab explaining how they “outgrew” their class like the crab did his shell. She had her Kindergarten students give a seashell to a Pre-K student. The Kindergarten students were then given a larger shell which she connected to going to first grade. Both the Pre-K and Kindergarten children are now very excited for what’s to come next year!
