The Amsterdam High School Class of 2026 is giving back to the community through its senior service project, raising funds to support Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity as the organization prepares to launch a new home for qualified buyers early next year.

To support the initiative, students organized a festive present-wrapping station and ornament sale, welcoming community members to take part while contributing to a meaningful cause. The event was hosted at the newly renovated Amsterdam Municipal Golf Course and was held in collaboration with Meg’s at Muni.

Members of the Class of 2026 worked alongside students from the Amsterdam High School Jazz Band to make the event a success. Through their collective efforts, the group raised more than $300 for Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity, directly supporting its mission to provide safe and affordable housing in the local community.

Faculty and staff who would still like to support the cause may purchase handmade ornaments for $3 each through the end of the week. Those interested are encouraged to contact Kelly Forte or a Class of 2026 officer for more information.

The project reflects the Class of 2026’s commitment to service, teamwork and community engagement as they continue to make a positive impact beyond the classroom.
