Credits required for Regents diploma
English – 4 units
Social Studies – 4 units
Math – 3 units
Science – 3 units
Health – 1/2 unit
Art/Music/DDP – 1 unit (Can be fulfilled by Studio Art, Choir, Band, Music Theory, Design & Drawing for Production)
Foreign Language – 1 unit
Physical Education – 2 units
Sequence, Courses & Electives – 3.5 units
Total = 22 credits
Examinations Required for Regents diploma
English Language Arts Common Core Exam
U.S. History & Government Regents Exam
Global History & Geography Regents Exam
One Math Regents Exam (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry)
One Science Regents Exam (Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics)
Credits required for Regents diploma with advanced designation
English – 4 units
Social Studies – 4 units
Math – 3 units
Science – 3 units
Health – 1/2 unit
Art/Music/DDP – 1 unit (Can be fulfilled by Studio Art, Choir, Band, Music Theory, Design & Drawing for Production)
Foreign Language*
Physical Education – 2 units

+ Electives = 22 credits
To earn the advanced designation, the student must complete one of the following:
A language other than English (total of three credits)
Career and Technical Education (five credits) plus one credit in a language other than English; Career and Technical Education includes Business, and Technology programs
The arts (five credits) plus one credit in a language other than English.

U.S. History & Government Regents Exam
Global History & Geography Regents Exam
Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 Regents Exams
Two Science Regents Exams (Living Environment, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science)
Language other than English Proficiency Exam OR
Five credits in Career & Technical Education PLUS one credit in a language other than English OR
Five credits in the arts, business, or technology PLUS one credit in a language other than English
