Marching Band is a co-curricular requirement of all students registered in 1820 or 1830. Performances will include halftime shows for football games and parades and community sponsored events.

Afterschool practices are required on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00pm-5:00pm
Reasonable accommodations will be made for students involved in extracurricular activities, i.e. clubs, sports. Students with after school jobs should schedule hours after 5:00 p.m. Marching Season is usually completed by November 30th of each year, except in occasional instances in the spring of each year when a performance is scheduled.

It is required that students attend summer marching band camp, which begins two (2) weeks prior to the start of the school year. Band uniforms will be supplied by the Greater Amsterdam School District. Students are required to provide band shoes and a cap. These may be purchased from the music department suppliers. Students are required to have their own instruments except for percussion and large wind instruments. Students are required to take band class to be admitted into marching band. Students wishing to participate in the marching band and who are not registered for a band class may get permission from the band directors for unavoidable extenuating circumstances. These students have attempted to register for band in their schedule and are unable due to core class/special program conflicts.
