Lynch Literacy Academy welcomed Albany-based teaching artist Jordan Taylor Hill last week for an engaging presentation of Rhythms of the Diaspora, an interactive program that explores the cultural traditions of the African and Indigenous diasporas.
Through drumming, storytelling and dance, Hill led students and staff on a journey highlighting how rhythm and movement connect communities across time and geography. Participants learned traditional songs, practiced drumming patterns and even took part in a group dance, creating an energetic and collaborative experience.
Hill’s visit offered students a meaningful opportunity to celebrate cultural heritage while engaging in the arts, reinforcing LLA’s commitment to hands-on, inclusive learning experiences.
