UPE Students

Greater Amsterdam School District middle school students in Unified Physical Education participated in a water-based activity session that included kayaking, canoeing and water aerobics.

During the experience, students practiced basic paddling skills, worked in pairs and groups, and participated in movement-based activities in the water. The session supported physical activity while reinforcing teamwork and inclusion.

“This is a great example of what Unified PE is about—students learning together, supporting one another and building confidence through new experiences,” said Krystal Hammond, middle school principal. “Opportunities like this help strengthen connections and encourage students to step outside their comfort zones.”

Unified PE brings students together through inclusive activities designed to promote participation, cooperation and skill-building.
