Marie Curie Elementary

First grade students at Marie Curie Elementary are building leadership skills through goal-setting and progress monitoring as part of the Leader in Me model.

Students in Mrs. Miller’s and Mrs. Flansburg’s classes set a goal at the beginning of the month to complete and pass 100 i-Ready lessons by the end of March. Throughout the month, students tracked their progress by marking each completed lesson, reinforcing accountability and consistency in their learning.

This week, students reached their goal and earned their first Leader in Me goal-setting celebration. To recognize the achievement, classes held a stuffed animal and pajama party.

Students are now preparing for their next goal. In addition to completing lessons, they will aim to achieve a score of 80% or higher on each lesson as they continue developing leadership habits in the classroom.
