As we approach the beginning of the winter season here at GASD, we are instituting some changes to dismissal procedures at McNulty Academy, specific to students who are dismissed to their older siblings. Recent events involving middle school students and concerns for appropriate supervision of middle school students have necessitated this change to McNulty’s dismissal procedures.

Starting on Dec. 4,  all middle school students who are picking up younger siblings from McNulty will need to have a gold pick up pass, granting them permission to enter the McNulty school grounds and pick up their Pre-K through grade three siblings.

While we will try to be accommodating to families regarding their individual pick-up needs,  the McNulty dismissal will continue to start at 2:45 p.m., with Pre-K students and end with students in grades three-five at 3:10 p.m. Middle school students who are picking up siblings will only be permitted on the McNulty campus starting at 3:00 p.m. Please note that middle school students will be required to present this pass in order to gain access to the McNulty campus and complete the pick-up process.

Thank you for your help in maintaining a safe and orderly dismissal process at both buildings. Please contact the building administration with questions.

Sincerely,

Richard Ruberti
GASD Superintendent of Schools
