For the tenth consecutive year, students and staff at Tecler Elementary School came together to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The donation period, which ran from May 28 through June 6, invited the school community to support children with critical illnesses through small contributions that made a big difference.
As part of the tradition, every $35 raised earned students the opportunity to randomly select a teacher to receive a pie to the face. This year, Tecler raised a total of $713.50, resulting in 19 teachers being pied. The pie toss has become a highly anticipated part of the fundraiser, adding excitement and encouraging participation from across the school.
The event served not only as a fundraiser but also as a community-building experience for students and staff. It allowed students to engage in charitable giving while seeing the direct and humorous results of their efforts. Teachers volunteered to be part of the pie toss, reinforcing the sense of unity and shared purpose within the school.
All funds raised were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps grant life-changing wishes for children diagnosed with critical illnesses. The success of the event reflects the ongoing commitment of the Tecler community to supporting meaningful causes and providing students with opportunities to learn the value of giving back.
