Kindness Club

Tecler Elementary School has launched a new Kindness Club focused on spreading compassion throughout the classroom, school, and greater community—one thoughtful act at a time.

In November, Kindness Club students created handwritten cards for every staff member at Tecler Elementary as a way to express gratitude and appreciation for their dedication and daily support of students. The initiative served as the club’s first project and reinforced the importance of recognizing those who make a difference each day.

Building on that momentum, the club extended its mission beyond the school walls in December. With support from the Tecler school community, students helped create more than 180 cards for residents of the Wilkinson Nursing Home in Amsterdam. The cards were delivered during the holiday season, bringing messages of warmth, joy, and kindness to local residents.

The district extends its appreciation to the Kindness Club members and the many classes and educators who collaborated to make these projects possible, including Mrs. Torres, Mrs. Canavan, Ms. Lis, Ms. Fedullo, Mrs. Krupski, Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Dion, Mrs. Puliafico, Mrs. Mabie, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Angus, and Ms. Willbrant.

Tecler Elementary is proud of its students for leading with empathy and demonstrating how small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact. Additional Kindness Club initiatives are planned throughout the school year.
