Tecler Kindness Club

Students in first and second grade at Tecler Elementary School are helping lead efforts to promote kindness throughout the building as part of the school’s Kindness Club.

In January, the club launched a schoolwide Wildly Important Goal focused on spreading kindness. Each classroom created and committed to its own kindness goal, supporting a shared effort to build a positive school environment. Club members also created “Get Well Soon” cards for students who had to leave school early, providing the school nurse with a way to support students during the day.

In February, students organized a Heart Gram initiative. Club members designed and distributed messages with positive notes to students, teachers and staff throughout the building.

In March, students introduced a Kindness Coin Hunt in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Gold coins with kindness messages were placed throughout the school, and students and staff were invited to participate. Each participant kept a coin as a reminder to demonstrate kindness each day.

The Kindness Club is in its first year and continues to provide students with opportunities to take on leadership roles while supporting a positive school climate.
