The Greater Amsterdam School District announces its Athletes of the Week for the 2023-24 school year.
Fall Athletics – Week 6
Julia Dion (Soccer)
Chris Tilley (Football)
Julia Dion (Soccer): Julia played in her last game of the her senior year. She contributed 2 shots on goal during Schuylerville. She also locked up one of the star midfielders who normally scores. She also had to move into multiple positions that helped us out defensively and offensively.
Chris Tilley (Football): Chris went into the role of QB and has stepped up to the plate. He was 12-21 for 214 passing yards and 3 touchdowns. He had 16 rushing yards and 1 touchdown. He had a total of 230 yards offensively and 4 touchdowns.

Alexa Geisler (XC): Alexa has shown commitment and improvement throughout this season. She attends every practice and works her hardest every day. She is a solid member of our top 5 scoring team, rounding out our team for a win against Johnstown on Tuesday. She also finished 10th in her Sophomore race at the highly competitive Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday.
Vincent Chen (XC): First year with the XC team. Vincent has made an impressive improvement with his run times since the beginning of the season. The last few weeks he has managed to bump himself up to be the second runner to finish for the team in the past few races. His race results for this past week are: Foothills meet he finished 8th place out of 59 with a run time of 18:06 and at the Manhattan Invitational a run time of 16:16. This is a personal best so far for Vincent.
