Amsterdam High School's senior standout Gianna Crespo-Julia has secured her spot in the NYS Cross Country Championships, making her the second female athlete in Amsterdam history to qualify for the cross country championships.
Crespo-Julia qualified for the championships at the Nov. 5 sectional meet where she completed the challenging 5K course in just 19 minutes and 19 seconds to finish fourth overall in Class B.
The championship races will take place Saturday, Nov. 11, at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District, where she will compete against the best runners in New York state.
