The Greater Amsterdam School District is excited to introduce Mr. Mike Gennett as the newly appointed Interim Principal of Amsterdam High School. Mr. Gennett officially assumed his role on Feb. 22. 

Bringing  experience and a deep commitment to education, Mr. Gennett has been an integral part of the Greater Amsterdam School District since 2006. With a career spanning 22 years, he has evolved from a dedicated Physical Education teacher to an esteemed administrative professional. 

In expressing his vision for the school, Mr. Gennett states, “I believe in teamwork, a shared vision, and a collective action plan with our whole community to promote the educational success of our students. We believe that all students are talented and can be highly successful citizens, and it’s our mission to nurture that student as a whole person.” 

Emphasizing the "ABC’s" of student academic success, Mr. Gennett reinforces a collective message at Amsterdam High School: "We attend school and our classes on time, take pride in our positive behavior, and succeed by completing our coursework." 

With a strong commitment to school safety and high-level instruction, Mr. Gennett's leadership is poised to make an immediate and lasting impact. His extensive experience in the district and dedication to fostering a positive and successful educational environment align seamlessly with the goals of the Greater Amsterdam School District.
