It is an honor to recognize two exceptional young men, Garrett and Parker McHeard, who have achieved the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America, the rank of Eagle Scout.
Garrett McHeard, an Amsterdam High School graduate and New York State Public High School Outdoor Shot-Put Champion, continues to inspire as a junior at the University of Connecticut (UCONN). He is active in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Athletes in Action. For his Eagle project, Garrett painted the basketball court at Tecler Elementary School, creating a vibrant space for students.
Parker McHeard, a recent Amsterdam High School graduate, demonstrated remarkable dedication as Commanding Officer for the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. His Eagle project, "Jackson’s Legacy," honors Mrs. Abby Jackson, a beloved Reading teacher, showcasing his compassion and leadership.
Garrett and Parker, your achievements embody these principles, and we are proud to congratulate you on reaching this milestone. Congratulations, Eagle Scouts!
