Outstanding Lead Performer Award for Lianelys Oviedo-Roman
Oviedo-Roman portrayed Eurydice in Hadestown: Teen Edition and was one of two students selected to receive the Outstanding Lead Performer Award. As part of this honor, she will advance to a national-level competition, the Jimmy Awards, which will take place in New York City on June 23.
At the Jimmy Awards, Oviedo-Roman will join other top high school performers from across the country for a week of rehearsals, coaching, and workshops led by Broadway professionals. The program culminates in a live performance on a Broadway stage, where students will compete for scholarships and recognition.
The district congratulates the entire AHS Drama Club on their success at the High School Musical Theatre Awards and wishes Oviedo-Roman the best as she prepares to represent Amsterdam on the national stage.
