The Greater Amsterdam School District recently held its annual National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony, recognizing 35 new members for their achievements in scholarship, leadership, service and character.
The ceremony included the traditional NHS pledge and candle lighting, signifying each student’s commitment to uphold the core values of the organization. Academic awards were also presented to students across all content areas in recognition of their outstanding performance.
The National Honor Society is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious student recognition programs. Induction is not only a celebration of academic excellence, but also a call to continued service and ethical leadership. Students selected for membership are expected to demonstrate ongoing dedication to their school and community.
